A qualified pharmacist preparing to dispense a script

Established in 1927, the Pharmacy Guild of Australia will soon celebrate 100 years and in that time, it has helped pharmacists join doctors and nurses as the people most trusted by Australian consumers.

You won't find the national chains on this list other than a few independently owned pharmacies that are part of a particular chain or group. That's because the Guild is the governing body for community pharmacies of which there are around 5,800 across the country.

Community pharmacies are the most frequently accessed health destinations in Australia. They dispense a mind boggling 218 million prescriptions a year under an agreement negotiated by the Guild with the Australian Government that underpins the delivery of Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS).

Accreditation demands authenticity, connection & excellence. So, when you see the Guild logo on their window, you know you're in good hands. It's only granted to pharmacies that are committed to the highest standards of care through the Quality Care Pharmacy Program (QCPP).

Plus, accredited pharmacies are subject to regular assessments for safety, quality, and excellent customer service along with clinical governance, infrastructure, and patient-centred care.

Check to ensure the pharmacy you visit is accredited by the Pharmacy Guild of Australia so you have the assurance they are a proven and trustworthy healthcare partner.
